I think you could get paranoid listening to those ads. I think you can get a sense about people when you meet them. I can't imagine running a background check on someone before going on a date. If things didn't feel right, then I would pass on them. Common sense can go a long way.

 

I did not read the whole thread but maybe you should give his phone number to the police and show them the web link. They could maybe locate the phone and take care of this guy.

Just a thought.

 

Tell him your with Dateline and would he do an interview.

 

It's amazing how it seems like every "veteran" we meet on the road is a former Force Recon-Airborne-Air Assault-Green Beret-Special Forces-Ranger-Sapper-SEAL. Let me tell you something from an actual veteran, 99% of us that have seen action don't talk about it. The bigger or more elaborate the military record someone tells you they have the more likely it is to be ########. Like they say, "believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see".
