I think you could get paranoid listening to those ads. I think you can get a sense about people when you meet them. I can't imagine running a background check on someone before going on a date. If things didn't feel right, then I would pass on them. Common sense can go a long way.

It's amazing how it seems like every "veteran" we meet on the road is a former Force Recon-Airborne-Air Assault-Green Beret-Special Forces-Ranger-Sapper-SEAL. Let me tell you something from an actual veteran, 99% of us that have seen action don't talk about it. The bigger or more elaborate the military record someone tells you they have the more likely it is to be ########. Like they say, "believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see".
