When we first started I remember it being like when you first get your trucking authority. Nobody really trusts you. We did some wires and com checks to get people to work with us. I’d say 2/3 of people factor so if the factoring company won’t accept you then your screwed. So it also took a lot of the carrier saying sorry factoring says no and then calling the factor and talking them into using us. Once you get a couple loads in the books with a few different factors then it starts to get better. We only broker 8 to 10 loads per week but I have 0% quick pay and 0% advances. In fact I never advance because most of the times it’s a scammer who is double brokering. Like I said though 2/3 use factoring. One thing you’ll find is it takes a week to get an invoice and paperwork. Yet, the expectation is 30 days from delivery. So you may be sending checks out at 21 days but get a 30 day score. Most customers pay at 30 days, I do have a couple of the larger companies pay at 45 and had pushed for 60. Hope that helps.
