Michelin worth it if only 200 mile radius; Hankook DL 12 instead ?

Did you price the Michelins as a single tire, an axle or set? Loves discounts them pretty well per axle. At least they used to.

Have learned to be a fan of Michelins as most anything else has fallen short longevity wise.
Ask how much casings are worth vs the Hankooks if you are keeping your truck long term.

Bridgestone came out with the M760 Ecopia Drive Tire a few months ago, don't know if it's meant to replace the M710's.

I was never a fan of the M710's as I feel they don't last very long.

I personally use the Bridgestone M726 EL Drive Tire and have had great results.

You can't beat the 32/32" New Tread Depth.

Bridgestone also released a newer version of the M726 EL with a supposedly better compound.

    It's called the M726 ELA.

I don't really care for Michelin Drive tires as most trucks that have ran them, (including myself at one time) have seen irregular wear on the lugs and the lugs chunking.

At the time I had Michelin XDA3 Drive Tires and they did not wear very well.

The Michelin XZA3 + Steers are a great tire which are being replaced by the Michelin X Line Energy Z model.

I'm running hankook dl 07 now doing local heavy work. Around 250 to 300 miles a day. I find them slippery on icy roads. They're good in deep snow and ok on wet roads. They pick up rocks really bad but havent seen much rock drilling yet . They are wearing ok. I'll be going back to a first line tire when these are done though.

You'll never get the mileage the OTR guys get running short regional, specially if you're hitting tight docks. You might want to look at tires designed for regional or even p+d trucks. The right tool for the job and all that.

I was going to say the same thing. Firestone sells a dual tire, it has a stronger side, but wears more like a road tire.

I'm personal in the same position, I run some local, some 100 mile and some 300 mile runs.

I haul 140,000 regional. I see Michelin last a good amount compared to the cheaper brands but near the same for other major brands.

Michelin your paying for the warranty. 7 year, 3 retread warranty. Problem is..... I call and ask how long to get my Michelin recapped, oh 2 to 3 weeks. Well wtf am I going to do till then? They tell me I can buy a set of already done recaps for a quick changeover.

Why the #### would I want someone else's casings and give up that expensive warranty I bought?

You want local tires made for battle. Not OTR miles.

You are NOT going to get OTR results doing stop and go hither thither and yon. Ive been into some LTL docks that rub the side walls all around with a foot high curb divider between them. Ive got a picture to prove it.

Ran Hankooks on the last personal car I had, they did well except on ice. Throw a ton of logs in the back and that takes care of the ice problem. I will be purchasing them for the next set of tires. Treadwear is not a concern to me.

I've got over 259k on my 710's, dedicated run- average 11 stops per day with 400ish miles per trip. I'm in and out of job sites, Home Depot's and lumber yards all day.
Tires have less than 1/4" now but have been excellent as far as wear. In the rain they've always been horrible, it's my only complaint.

we run 100 psi and the centers are always 2-3/32 less rubber, probably too much air. Traction is very good and never noticed anything in the rain.

I decided to recap my own casings with the Michelin Multi Energy D tread. Never did it before; try it I guess.
