It s helpful when you are parked beforehand, every time
I came across bad weather and tried to park it, I wished I had stayed on the highway

I just watched the news here in Chicago and they said that at the time of the accident which was roughly 2PM the rate in which it was snowing was roughly 4 inches an hour!

19 semis and at least 15 cars involved. 1 of the people killed was a 64 yr old man and the other 2 were a husband and wife from Grand Rapids. They say they may not end up the only ones though.

Thoughts and prayers for those families and to all you drivers out there : Stay safe.

I would guess everyone involved was probably going faster than the road/weather conditions allowed. This is so sad and needless. If the load is late, so what? At least it will get there and hopefully there will be no fatalities or injuries involved. Prayers and condolences to all who may have been injured or killed and the family they leave behind.

I have never seen trucks packer together like that. There was Dust storms along I5 just North of the Grapevine going north maybe 75-100 miles and several times CHP was out leading traffic through the bad ones. There was one where visibility went to almost zero and cars started stopping in the middle of the road even though they knew that there was only the trooper in front of them.

IMHO, new drivers (such as myself and those with a similar amount of experience or less) should be dispatched along I-70 or below until they have some time under their belts.

Trial by fire (ice) is a dangerous game when it comes to driving a rig.

yeah, cuz roads like I-70 or I-64 never get extremely dangerous in winter weather.

You got a short memory of what the weather was like a few weeks ago with all the ice and snow in IL and IN.

Wanna amend that to 40.... Do I hear 20? Ok 10 you guys can run 10.

    I was being realistic.

The sad truth is, there are far too many new drivers on the road to limit us all to the I-10 stretch (fortunately for me however, I've found a way to stay down around I-10 for the majority of my trips).

I-70 is nowhere near as bad as I-80, I-90, and the northeast.

Really? the idea that all newbs should be limited to run I-70 or below in winter is being realistic?

how do I get to fantasyland?
