Hey all. Just a heads up, Michigan is running something called "operation Yellowjacket" the month of March wherin they will park on the side of freeways with a yellow work truck and clock people or pull up and pace. I have been told that state troopers have cancelled all vacation and brought in part timers. They have hard quotas in effect and will hit you for FIVE over. They have also bought 50 new black chargers unmarked. I dont know if truckers are part of this sting but.....Any way heads up,rubber down and as always ..... keep rollin

I noticed yesterday that they are watching the small towns that have lower speed Limits Up on US 2 and Just south of the Mac Bridge on 131, They are towns that the speed limit is down and people dont slow down. I saw about 10 or so in 70 miles. They gave another driver a ticket yesterday for tailgating on da bridge, Behind me. I kinda agree with that though, I don't like 150000 plus pounds in one spot on that bridge!

The "Yellow Jacket" email is a hoax that has going around for a few years, and involving other states. You don't have to check it in snopes. Google it.
My sister contacted a state police officer who writes a column in our weekly trade paper. I was surprised that the officer had not heard of Yellow Jacket as a hoax. He refuted the "hoax" asking what modifications could possibly make a truck into a pursuit vehicle. As to the revenue statements in the hoax, every ticket has a specific percentage that goes to various different programs and departments. None of it goes to pay the troopers. It would actually take $1.5 million to pay 47 troopers overtime for the length of time in the Michigan hoax. Quotas are illegal. Troopers have collective bargaining, and the state can not cancel their vacations. There are no part-time officers in the Michigan State Police.
There is no Michigan law 39:3-29 as mentioned in the Michigan hoax. That is not even the correct format. Speeding is MCL 257.625. The hoax also had some non-existent route numbers.BumpInTheRoad and Cybergal Thank this. -
I saw that also, but they have stepped up on patrol lately, That could be in part of Frost restrictions coming out in a lot of areas.

Yesterday I was north bound on I75. In the construction zone just south of Woodhaven, there was a white pickup on the southbound side with a LEO in it. Just outside the construction zone, the Rockwood police, had three different fourwheelers on the shoulder. Looks like someone finally got fed up with the fourwheelers, and some big trucks, blasting thru the construction. Haven't heard anything about the yellowjacket thing either. Just watch yourselves going thru construction zones.

This is true...I live just down the road. watch your speed through the construction on I-75 near the #32. As far as the "yellow jacket" campaign, it was just on the local news in Detroit as a hoax.
