ITS: International Trucking School- Based out of Warren/Novi/Lansing/Monroe and Soon Kalmazoo
I am telling you this as a Warning, Cause I have attended there. This School is known for Bad Trucks that shouldn't be out on the Road, Nothing in these Trucks work, Like Wiper pump,Steering has Too much Play or steering has No power,Front Lights Busted and most of All Bald Tires.
The Schooling part Was good Learned just about everything I needed to know My Instructor ( Mike ) Was also a Truck Driver He was passionate about his Career and shared His Knowlege to His Classmates, But thats all I can Say about Teaching End, Update The Instructor is No longer there!!
I want you to Know this What you call school is a Rip Off it's Not what it claims to Be. If UnEmployment Trys to get you to go there, avoid them!
US Trucking or some Other School that Might be Better.....
The Time you spend in the Rig Driving the Roads, in a Two week Peroid is about 10 to 14 hours Total, on the field ( Backing 90, 45, Str8, Right side Turn ) you'll spend about 40 hours. Which is Not Good with the two combined. You'll Need about 140 to 200 hours behind the wheel from a School to get a Job with any Company....
But thats where ITS helps You, They Cheat Your Hrs and Drive it up to either 140hrs to 320hrs behind the wheel, and I am telling you from Exp. This is Not Safe, You Need those Hrs to Help you Feel Comfy Driving those Big Rigs, and If you Don't Pass Testing Out to obtain your CDL you get too take another 2 weeks in the Field but only if Space is available, But Remember you also have to pay third Party Examiner another $100.00 , and when you do that You Payed for you License, wether you pass or Not!!....
The School cost is about $5140.00 and runs for 4 weeks , 2 weeks in classroom and 2 weeks out on the Field...1st Exam you don't pass With Examiner ( Third Party ) you have to Pay out of Pocket 2 time you see him 2 weeks later....
I have Bought this Case To Michigan Unemployment and To the BBB and Lansing ... This so called School should not Be Running.
You'll Find out when you apply for a Company and they will say Never Heard of that School and you'll have to Explain where it is and give them phone numbers and where its location is, I am Trying to get this Message out Because you need to Know, and You like many out there Check the Background out on these Schools , don't go by their Words or Unemployment , Feel them out, Reseach them found out if they will help you with Placement of a Job....
Just Be Careful, This School is Not one I would Recommend to anyone...

Good that you have reported this. I finished school not long ago, got a job and am driving now. The biggest thing I noticed that the school did not teach and should have in my opinion was pulling a loaded trailer. If all you ever pull is an empty and you try to get hired somewhere, take a road test with a loaded trailer, you will be like OH ####E. Nothing is the same with 30,000lbs plus in the trailer your pulling. Not your shifting, turning or stopping. The other significant thing my school didn't teach was how to deal with all of these various weigh stations. They are not so simple as just pull in, say hello and you can go on. The road life will not be for everyone, that is another challenge all by itself. Be carefull and good luck.

Is there any new info about this school
-
I know this is way old, but just a quick response to the comment here:
It is against state and federal laws to train in a loaded trailer. It can be done through loopholes, but it isn't a good idea. Any decent company worth working for will know this and not road test you until you go through their training program on the road, in real life situations.
Check Trainco in Taylor, MI if you want a good school in MI.

I am curently dealing with this school VIA Glen Oaks Community College. So far they have had there ducks in a row and have not jerked me around. I filled out job app and have pre-hires already. My schooling is fully funded via Financial aid via the college. I start on March 7th and plan on keeping a full log of my schooling with them via my Blog on here.

I haven't been to Baker College, however, am familiar with the school and it is very well respected. I know that they would not do things wrong, as big as they are last thing they want is a scandal. It's also quite a bit longer and more expensive and the school is well established and funded.
You can try Roehl next door in Wisconsin. Its about $3400 roughly if you throw in the $400 for three weeks of hotel, you get your own room. If you do well and pass all the tests you will most likely be offered employment as a company driver. You can also take your CDL and do elsewhere too if you want. I'm there now and am enjoying the education. At this point I hope to obtain a company position after school.
