If you haven't taken the latest updates....wait !!!
Give them at least another 14 days to figure out what they hosed up this time.
64 bit updates have slowed my PC to a complete crawl.
My dual core with 4 gig of ram, is almost as slow as the p3 400 with half gig of ram, from years ago.
MicroSoft updates WAIT !!!

When isn't Microsoft screwing something up?

You do know you can back those updates off ? I just loaded a notebook with Vista 64 bit and I'm not having any slow issues with the updates. Well except for this new wireless card I installed, but I think it's a Dell issue.

All updated on 64-bit here and no issues. I'll keep looking for something to start happening though, thanks for the heads up.

I usually check for any chatter before I accept an update. Didn't see any, so I figured it was all good.
Of course, we know that's what wet dreams are made of too. Fantasy. -
I'm still running xp sp2, lol. -

Speaking of updates I heard them talking about Windows 7 the other day. The guy on the radio said it would run on Pentium III and only used 256-512 MB of Ram. It adjust to the speed of your computer. Now, if that is true, that is an update.

Uh Hello ???? That was the big selling point of XP. How's that working out so far? -

I actually liked Windows XP and found it to be pretty stable. Although I do like Vista, it is a memory hog and requires a faster processor to handle all the stuff it has going on. It is nice to see that they are scaling down the memory needs and allowing the operating system to be a little more backward campatable. I will wait for them to work the bugs out of it, which will probably slow it down to the point that it won't be backward compatable. It is dissapointing that when you first install Windows it darts around with lightning speed then you download 45 minutes worth of updates and windows is trolling along doing it's job and doing it fine but where did that quicker than you could snap your fingers speed go. Oh well, I understand that as people vandalise the operating system they have to keep adding on more protection to it each of those add-ons will slow it down just a little bit more. Sorry if you have not found it to be a pleasant operating system and I wish you happy computing.
