There's a lot of 9400 and 9200 mid roof internationals for sale. Theyre perfect for what I want them for but Ive been afraid of having the same issue youre having now.
As someone who has pulled a van in a tractor, with and without a nose cone, I think it makes a big difference in the way it handles; still looking into it though.
Let me know how it works out.
Mid roof sleeper on a van. Would a nose cone help?

I think you guys are crazy and that stuff is in your head. I can't tell any difference at all between handling of a midroof tractor with no roof fairing pulling a van (what I have now for the past 6 years) and full condo sleeper pulling a van (what I drove for 9 years prior). Fuel mileage, yeah. Slow down and you can make up a lot of difference though.

Having an understanding of fluid dynamics in one's head might not be a bad thing... Slowing down helps mitigate poor aero - but that applies (albeit inequally) to both trucks with one or more aero mods and trucks without.

Well I think it helps driving straight into the wind a little but I can't prove it. There is no difference in my mpg. But with all the snow, mountains, and wind lately, I dont think much of anything will help. LOL. Right now what I think really hurts me is no side extentions on my cab. Whenever I hit a cross wind I can really see my instant mpg go way down. There is just too big of a gap between the truck and trailer and I have the fifth wheel as far foward as I can and still scale. So RC may be right. I may have wasted my time and money. Oh well. Win some lose some.
Al. Roper Thanks this.
