    Hi,
I have this error on my truck MID128 PPID270 FMI3 Nox Sensor,
I checked the wiring to the nox sensor module and everithing seems to be ok.
    The question is:
if i change the nox sensor, that it comes with his module, do I need to do a calibration after ?

What year is your Volvo? Have your dealer look where the nox sensors are located. There was a service bulletin out about a year ago. The nox sensor located on the top of the pipe will go bad if water hits it. The bulletin was to move this sensor to a different location. Other than changing out the sensor there is no calibration that I know of. A friend who has nox sensor issues with his Volvo just asked this question last week. We were told that anyone can change a nox sensor out.

seems to me this is truck with DEF. If DEF system fails for different reason (low DEF pressure, bad catalistic converter) NOX sensor reads toxic exaust and engine ECM derated. But sometimes dirty NOx reads wrong data, so start swaping NOx sensor with new

Thanks for your answers, the truck is 2009 without def, the engine is not derated, at least I had not any message for this, only the error for the nox sensor. Thr regenation works ok so no other symtoms. And all the exhaust including catalitic converter its new.

What kind of engine do you have if its a volvo you can just clear from the dash just to make sure that that's the issue I have replaced a few of them and there is no calibration or anything of that nature that goes with it just as a precaution I like to unplug the batteries but that's all

99% that fault is NOx sensor, FMI3 is electrical fault and its internal fault of NOx sensor, after replacing sensor calibration can be needed it all depands what is old part No. of sensor and ehat is new part No. if numbers is the same calibration dont need.
