Oh I intend to get all my endorsements soon, but also to go from my current comany to JJ might be a bit awkward... I'll have to pass on the cali company too. Just been an absolute nightmare going there. Well, in a flatbed anyways. Maybe it's more enjoyable in a van? The whole 100 degree heat plus traffic kicks my ### lol. One of my buddies drives flatbed now but came from Sherman Brothers. He had good things to say about them and I was wondering if anyone could add their inight?

I'm going to guess your with Systems transport based on what you've said so far. Changing to different divisions in Trans-Systems isn't that big of a deal. The primary office is over in Longview and most those guys are home every night, but unless you just want some short term tanker experience i wouldn't go there. The workload is insane for the pay. Nobody sticks with JJW's very long as a result. Your probably running one of the new 2014 or 2015 trucks. Pretty much all of these new trucks are shop queens for the first 100k miles at a minimum and sometimes up to 200k. If you can I would actually recommend getting into an older truck with 200k+ miles.

Systems is running a couple Conestoga's now. In fact my buddy just lost his wallet and has been getting tired of the Conestoga run so he gave it up. The company gave it to some moron who used to work at CR England who couldn't grasp the concept of a Conestoga after my buddy explained it to him multiple times and had to go away leaving him to figure it out. Chances are he still hasn't figured it out so you could probably take over the run if you asked.

It runs from Los Angeles to BC to AB and then back down every 2 weeks then you typically have to find some filler work Mon-Thur as they won't load you for Canada in LA until Friday. Pay is 2cpm more than OTR and he said he made more doing it than OTR. Also was getting home every other weekend on his way up to Canada for a 34 since he lives right off the I-5.

If your thinking of leaving just because of the DM's their is much better DM's here than that evil witch from hell that starts with a J.

If you really want to change companies though Central Oregon seems to be pretty nice. They don't have APU's and their trucks only go 62mph, but most their drivers seem happy and you would have the option of getting home every weekend. They are also converting just about their whole fleet to Conestoga's based on what I'm seeing and hearing.

Their is much better opportunities for compensation in the tanker world with companies like Trimac if you can tolerate the piles of fictitious safety BS.

My uncle who recently retired after 38 years OTR knows the owner of this company and said it would be a good place to go since i've expressed interest in leaving Systems as well. I'm probably going to stick around till next spring though since I'm planning to go the O/O route as well.

I actually really like the J lady. In fact, I like all the guys at the job. They aren't my biggest issue. I just don't wanna, in a sense, let them down after the time was invested to train me and what not. Also, I'm in a 2011, and it's just been pure hell. I was told I'll be getting a new truck, and I like that. I hate calling in all the time with issues. It makes me sound like a whiner about issues I think are important and I can only guess their opinions of me at this time. Again though, I do like the guys and gals there. I get my questions answered, and they do listen. But at the same time....let's just say I don't want anymore surgeries for a long time.
As far as tolerating a bunch of safety stuff....I was an air traffic controller in the Navy. I live and breathe safety and regulations. It was drilled into my head daily lol.

It sounds like a no brainer then. You need to get into a less physical job. As you've already figured out we tarp EVERYTHING. You can't really get around that here as far as i know unless you hop into one of our couple Conestoga's. Tanker would still be physical to a lesser extent dragging the hoses around. Pay and hometime is much better though. If your able i would try to get on with Trimac, but be careful which terminal you join. Trimac has acquired many companies to expand its business and many of them are rather miserable even though they fall under the Trimac Banner.

Yep, I got a 40 page or so thread about them here documenting my experience with many other drivers working here as well chiming in. If you read it from beginning to end you'll see that I've gotten much more relaxed than when i started. I was a real Type A personality in my first 9 months or so. Consequently we clashed quite a bit. Everything is pretty stable now that I'm working with the most senior dispatcher in the company and we've learned what buttons not to push on one another.

I'll ask about the conistoga position. Something tells me I might have talked to you before. And yes, I have a paccar. #### near killed me going down a mountain when the jake quit and the rpms didn't hold either.

LOL, Sounds like a Paccar. When the company assigned me my truck i told em if the block wasn't red i wasn't taking it. I drove two different trucks with Paccar cross country during training and it was the most miserable driving experience of my life. Not to mention those worthless POS motors might as well not even have a Jake brake.

It's unlikely you've met me as i only stop by a company terminal once every 2-4 weeks and it's usually just long enough to turn in paperwork. I rarely talk with Systems drivers out on the road either because i rarely see them where i run.

If you talked with me much at all you would likely remember it though. I have a dreadful stuttering problem in real life. I often times can type far faster (88wpm :D) than I can verbally speak.
