I'm sure you made the right decision!! Just last week, they cut everyone's pay in the whole company. They can't be doing all that well as far as profits go! And the pay was horrible to begin with! They're making all new students team up, but still paying them (was .28 ) .26 a mile, split miles, which is the lowest I've heard out of any companies I've checked into! So their drivers are out on the road making a whopping .13 a mile.... pretty sad!

A person who is looking at any company for employment should look at their OR (operating ratio) If the company is not financially sound, don't take the gamble. It's tough enough without worrying about working for a company that might take the plunge and you not get paid.

I hear ya there!! From the sounds of it, Milan's not doing very well at all. I'll be on the computer and phone ALL day tomorrow trying to find a half-way respectable company to work for. After we get some experience, it'll be a bit easier to find, I'm sure.

Why doesn't anyone keep a tape recorder running to prove what is really going on? I sure as h*** would. You have to protect yourself if it is recorded then you have proof of who is telling the truth.

Yeah, I know.... I sure as hell wish I would have!! I was 'told' she was a very nice lady! I should have known better! From now on, I'll definitely be doing that! Live and learn the hard way, as usual!

Thank you! And yes, I always seem to learn the hard way too. But I figure we all make mistakes, and since there's nothing we can do to change them, as long as we learn from them, it's all good! :yes2557:

First know what kind of training pool they have. If there is only 1 female trainer and it is company policy that you can only train with a female guess what, who else is going to train you if you get into it with your trainer and they want you off the truck?

Second would be that you never get into it with the trainer. If you have a issue with your trainer you speak with a supervisor at the terminal. Does not matter how right you may be, short of video evidence or a police report the company is likely to take the side of a trainer especially when they are the only one who trains females.

Trainees must also remember that breaking the law as a trainee or during your probationary period will probably get you canned if you are caught and will not get you hired easily in the future, so why risk it for someone who is just there for the fatter check

Many drivers have not made it with their first trainer. I didn't but I just kept my mouth shut and got off the truck at a terminal and left the trainer wondering what the H was going on.

In the future make sure there is more then one trainer in control of your success in the training program and buy some earplugs if you have to but deal with problems with the trainer on the down low and with the company if your immediate safety is not a issue. Good luck

I was talking about the company I drive for in particular, a small 175 truck outfit. They seem to have cut out hiring any in-exp drivers here lately accepting only exp'd drivers.
