Just curious. Have read of all those who just dont seem to be able to get the miles. Interested in whether this is normal for new drivers, or depends on the driver and his/her motivations?:biggrin_25518:
Oh, yes, forgot to mention. What kind of miles could a new driver expect if he/she ran the western 11?

When you are new making that 26 cents a mile they will run the heck out of you. I also found out from my experience that running west gets you more miles. The trips are longer and not one time did I ever get stuck waiting for a load.

Out east I hate it. Miles went from 2800 to 3200 a week down to 1200 to 1800 a week. Everything seems to be short under 200 for each trip. Now I am going to head out west again and hope I stay there.

Depends on you, your DM and the area you are in. If you send good p.t.a.s in you will get quicker plans. If you call your DM every day and cry or complain they might give you a real reason to cry for a while. If you are in a crappy area that is underbooked, meaning more trucks than loads then an exercise in patience will ensue. Every time I go out my areas change but my miles go up slowly. I take the crappy loads and usually get a plan or 3 stacked before I deliver.
