    It was called a FNAEB (pronounced FEE-NAB) and it includes a visit with the admiral. Often by that point it's a formality as there's no possible way to justify what happened.

    I know that. Said in jest. The pilot may have done traps on a carrier in his/her career.

    Most Naval Air Stations have Arrestor Cable setups on at least one runway to allow student pilots and pilots in for refresher training to do "traps". A lot cheaper than sending them to a fleet training carrier, which the Navy currently does not have assigned.
