Military Service (Reserves) and Trucking

    I started out active. Then went IRR. Did a try one in the guard. Did not like it. Joined the reserves. They deactivated. Went back to the guard because the State had money and the federal was cutting units both active and reserve. We moved down here and I transferred. It was actually a squared away unit for many years. Most of the upper chain was former active and some were combat vets. Viet-nam era. Then they retired or promoted out of the unit. Then we got a lot of inner promotions. Bam then 9-11. Next thing I know I am deploying with a unit with no leadership. Sad, but what was once a good unit became jacked up overnight.

    We were tankers. Abrams, now they are something else now, Transportation or supply. I have no idea. They still have a tank outside with all of our names engraved on it, but I have no clue what they do now.
