I'm an experienced driver with 7 years experience. In 2012 I got a DWI in my personal vehicle and lost my CDL. 5 years have passed and I want to get back on the road. I'm gonna have to start all over again. I've pretty much narrowed my search down to Millis or Stevens... I've done my homework on here, on you tube, and anything else I can watch or read. Wanted to get some inside input before I make my final decision.
Millis or Stevens?

I've been researching and Millis is on top of my list. I haven't heard of Stevens. Just looked at their website and it doesn't list what you'd get paid, or what the schooling cost.

Stevens school is free if you stay 12 months. Starting cpm pay is lower than Millis, but the big difference is Stevens runs coast to coast and Millis stays in eastern half of USA.
Stevens is refrigerated and also has a tanker division that works the Texas oil fields.
Millis is dry van and hard to find any negative posts about them; if there are any, I haven't seen them.CrappieJunkie Thanks this. -
Check out king drodge on utube he is a Stevens driver

I like Millis a lot. Heard great things about them and they drop where I work, drivers seem professional. Had I not made a mistake ans went to Shaffer I would have went to Millis.Chinatown Thanks this.

I could tell you some stories that happened to me ... they are a better starter company than most but still a starter company just the same.Chinatown Thanks this.

Things have changed quite a bit since Mike Millis is no longer involved in day to day activity. There are ALOT of drivers at Millis with 5+ yrs experience. Some of nicest trucks on the road equipped with pretty much every amenity needed, governed at 70mph for ecperienced guys, and pay is better than most. No reason to consider them just a starter company.TheLotusWay, JOHNQPUBLIC, Vic Firth and 2 others Thank this.
