If normal guy only gets it wrong 50% of the time while backing he's doing better than me at that time.
For some reason I still ponder and end up going the wrong way when backing up as a bobtail. I gave up on trying to look smooth when backing and just accepted the fact it may take me longer than the super truckers but I still get the job done in the end.

As long as you don’t hit anything when backing, then it’s all good…we all have our days where we can’t back tor squat for whatever reasons..

And that is what to aim for, not hitting anything. The more you back the better you get. I was driving awhile and at the time I was pretty good at backing. Delivered a load to a brand new Walmart Dc. 100 empty doors. I looked like a complete idiot. Took me over fifteen minutes to get in. Yard gut comes over and he is laughing really good. Say's we all have days like that. Never forget that day. Other days you blind side around a trailer and it goes right in with no pull up. Go figure, it will come. :)

Oh I know what you're saying, there are days I easily back into a hard spot with the trailer and then end up needing 3 pull ups to hook up to the next trailer. I just accept it for what it is.

I had one of those "this should be easy" backs a couple of winters ago. I needed to back up to a well marked door with plenty of room and at least 15 empty spots on either side, it was like aiming for the broad side of a barn. I eventually got it there, but it sure wasn't pretty or speedy.

Yup, that's where I was that day at Walmart. Everybody has days like that.

CFI now part of Heartland, Millis, Smith juggernaut. Hopefully they have a terminal close to my house.

can’t find a decent cfi terminal location. Much like the Smith acquisition can’t see this benefitting me.

Pretty soon there’s only going to be about 5 trucking companies in the US. I feel bad for the independent. Especially the ones without contract freight. They’re going to be hard pressed to compete with these Mega’s.

I've gone by Heartland's headquarters a few times and only see Heartland trucks and trailers there. Don't they let the other companies park there too?
