I was on way to drop them off for thanksgiving so that’s what I did. To be honest I am shocked that they fired her. Lots more to the story, so I just stuck to the highlight of her blazing a blunt.

I was kind of surprised they didn't check out the new hires more thoroughly, but figured the trainer took care of some of that. Even with all the cameras in the trucks and the ability to turn them off remotely Millis is still taking a risk when they give people a truck when they're done training.
But I thought they did a good job screening when I was there, better than one of the companies I was talking to about a job. I was on their employee email list and got an email they sent out about not crapping between the trailers in one of their yards. Should they really need to do that? -
Pretty sure they monitor the new drivers far more than the experienced drivers at millis. My one trainee made it 2 hours in their own truck before losing my $12.50 weekly safety bonus. He texted while driving.

I found the recent "You are approved for immediate rehire.." "You made $1.12 per mile," mailer rather disingenuous...
Millis loses a good driver promising him an extra battery for his Cpap only to claim its on back order for 3 months? Dumb.
Out of a class of four i'm the only one still driving class a. The one struggling to back at school at times, lol. Perseverance i tell ya, like anything.
Looking forward to the dumb dumb awards this winter! Job security imo.
Trouble farm i used to pickup, senior driver from another company forgot to set his parking brake and rolled a load bottom of the hill. Woman who "replaced" me after i found the best job i have ever had in my life, told my old boss when hired that she doesn't back up, that's what her husband is for. Boss told her fine but you're both only getting $30 an hour. She ripped the axles off a tanker on a chemical tank retaining wall driving forward in a wide open easy space. It's clear how she got her CDL. Gobble Gobble! Happy Thanksgiving! My old boss in deciding what to do with this "team" decision was made easy, she came in early to warm/pre-trip/clear snow so the wonder duo could actually be on time, she couldn't get the hood down and no one in the company would answer their phones that early. She left the truck running, hood open and cleaned their crap out and the last they were seen, lol.
This industry has no shortage of morons. It's scary we have to share space on roads with those that shouldn't have licenses. It can be a tough schtick for sure.
Least i haven't encountered an impaired driver yet. I'd report that crap in a second. No bro code there.pagan22, MIT, Still undecided and 1 other person Thank this. -
My goodness...How did I stumble across this and automatically knew! She was awesome. She was my trainer and I was her first trainee! Devastating news and still breaks my heart. I can hear her voice now. If I'm getting this correctly, I know for sure she loved you greatly as her best friend and trainer!! You and her taught me even when you guys didnt know. You guys rocked!

So past few weeks I have had a couple health issues. Started off Sunday before thanksgiving with pneumonia or bronchitis they gave antibiotics said if I was feeling better in a few days no need for an X-ray. I did start feeling better. But then I cough/sneezed so hard I had a crown fallout that was put in 35 years ago.
Went to the dentist where they ended up pulling tooth and putting an implant in.
Horrible freaking experience.
3 days after that went back out on the road with just horrible pain. Ended up at Cville got dentist to phone in a stronger antibiotic.
While in Cville feeling about as miserable as miserable could be, they found an issue with my truck that required it to be towed to KW.
Now this is where things got bad. They gave me 30 minutes to clear out my truck. Grab my bedding take it inside to wash since it seemed like a good time to do it. Get wash started and head out and fricking tow truck is hooking up to my truck.
Ask the shop guys where my replacement truck is and they tell me it’s in the shop!!
Ended up throwing most of my stuff in the parking lot waiting for them to get me my new truck.
That crushed me physically. They knew I was sick there was no reason the truck had to go to KW right then and there.
I don’t know what happened during the move but I rattled my mouth during all that, and I ended up in the Cville emergency room the next morning at 6am because of the pain and the swelling.
I will never have Cville shop look at my truck again even if it means I quit right there on the spot.Still undecided, dwells40, Friend and 1 other person Thank this. -
