    You are right. That place was a dump. Stopped going there when I started using the Heartland yard.

    On a side note. I always thought it was stupid that when Heartland took us over road service started coming out to the terminals. They finally switched it back over to having mechanics on call.

    I guess those piss poor quarterly reports have finally prompted some positive change.

    One of the guys I work with used to drive for Smith and he told me that he left there before the buyout, but he still has friends there that tell him that Heartland is doing the same thing to them that they did to Millis.

    From what I understand, it's neither Millis nor Smith that's the problem, though. It's CFI being a dumpster fire along with Gerdin not really knowing wtf he's doing.

    Personally I'd love to short Heartland stock all the way to bankruptcy but I won't because that's basically betting on all of you still there losing your jobs. Plus the market doesn't always make sense so Gerdin could make some absolutely horrible choices for the company and the stock will spike in response.

    Last month he went out and bought a couple million dollars of heartland stock along with some other insiders.

    Well I have had 20+ trainees. 3 of them arrived early to get picked up. The rest were late. The 3 early birds were good trainees. The rest were a mixed lot. So as I wait for this next one anything is possible.

    Well 4 hrs in….. pull into TA to get trainee some food have him pull through fuel island. He goes in and gets a sit down meal.

    Well he will fit in with the rest of these post-COVID drivers, won't he?

    I don't know if it's actually gotten any worse in the past 2 years or if I've just grown more intolerant of it. I just know that I am glad that 90% of the time, I can get fuel by stopping by a terminal and I absolutely hate fueling at truck stops now And it's because of shenanigans like that.

    There are a lot of people walking in front of our house. Some taking kids to school, a ton of people walking dogs, some going to the store or getting some exercise. One is a girl wearing bright blue Crocs ( but never with argyle socks) slowly going by regularly and every time I see her I hope she ends up better off than Crocs.

    Explained the etiquette of fuel island once he found where I parked. I think he gets it. I don’t know though. I have to repeat and threepeat everything Im trying to teach him.
    Definitely focused on allll the money he is going to make as a truck driver. Lol.

    After delivery we stopped at the loves on 29 outside of Eden. Wasnt going to risk the fuel island so we went straight for an open spot. Lol I didn’t even have time to get out of the truck to help him set up. He went nose first into the spot. So I had to help him back it out and then get him set up for backing.

    Biggest issue is English isn’t his original language.

    That would drive me insane. You'd think I would be a little bit understanding since I'm pretty hearing impaired. It really depends on whether I feel like they really didn't understand me or if they just weren't paying attention. If it's the latter then I'm adding a lot of cuss words to anything I have to repeat.

    Oh brother. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut about that.
