First time this has happened to me. Had a delivery to Elkton guard said drop it in k 23. Get back to k23 first fleet trailer in spot. So go to next available spot. K27. Now after k27 there were 30 mt spots. So I had trainee put it in 27 right next to the trailer in 26. We got it backed in, we were in the process of dropping it when a first fleet driver pulled up flew out of his truck saying 27 was his spot. I told the guy that 23 was our spot and just moved down to next closest. Lol he told me to ####ing move it. Just made me laugh. Which sent the guy in a rage. Started calling me names. Told to go back to the office if he had an issue. Stomped off and dropped his trailer across 3 spaces.

Last 3 months there has been a complete reorganization of dispatch. I think Pat is the last OTR dispatcher left from when you former millis drivers were here. I could be wrong but was just thinking about it today.

    JOHNQPUBLIC and Gremlin304 Thank this.

Pat was my dispatcher when I was there. I don't think he was all that popular with some of the more senior drivers, but I liked him because he did what I needed a dispatcher to do. He told me where to go and when to be there and left me alone. A "strictly business" kind of guy.

Are the new dispatchers still in BRF or are they moving it all to Iowa?

    MIT Thanks this.

Back when Millis would charge $500 up front for training we had better trainees.

I’m just going on my experience with the several trainees I’ve had since they jacked it up to $7500 with no cost up front. It seems like making someone come up with $500 made them more serious about getting their CDL. I’ve had several trainees just go about the entire process with a crappy attitude. Many of them already have horrible credit so what’s another $7500 ding against it.

I agree with you… Making them put money upfront essentially is making them invest in their future in this industry and when people don’t have any monetary incentive, they don’t care
