If anyone here will be in Cartersville tomorrow, lemme know. I have to deliver in Stockbridge, and I'm going to push hard to get that done in time to make it north of Atlanta before my clock ticks off. Won't be there until 7 or so, but happy to walk down and grab a brew at Second Half. Hopefully I won't end up getting stuck in Jackson for the night.

Here's an example. Today I burned through 13.5 hours of my 14. Only 9 hours and 10 minutes were drive time. 45 minutes of on duty in various categories. The rest was spent on time at both a delivery and then a pickup just sitting and waiting in off duty. I still had drive time left, but my 14 was burned. If I had time left on my 14, I could have made it about another hour south. It wouldn't have done me any good because of lack of parking. BUT, I could have continued to drive as long as I didn't exceed 11 hours and was still within my 14. But even if your 14 expires you can still be on duty so long as you have hours left on your 70. You will not be at a place where you can drive until you have spent at least 8 hours in either off duty or sleeper. Split numbers are tricky though. After 8 hours you may very well have nothing left. It's always best to do a 10, then you're good.

So as soon as weather clears I have a load going from La Crosse to Austin Tx. Quick question why does Millis want me to take 35 to US 69 to TX 75 then hop back on 35? Did it that way with my trainer once. 35 goes straight into Austin. Just curious.

Ignore route suggestions given on qualcom. Like dont even read the message lol. Take whatever you think is the fastest route. You follow that route suggestion every day you'll be out of hours before you know it, and wont have #### for miles

Thanks I am already running into an hours issue. 35 straight down shaves off an entire hour.

Ya those route suggestions are worthless. Oh I'm in Wisconsin headed to Rochester and you want me to take 30 thru Indiana over to 20 etc to avoid the tolls that you already charged the customer for? Ya screw off I'm taking 80/90 all the way and I'll save about 4hrs on my clock to make more $$. Like i said i dont even read them. Fastest rte from A to B is the way I'm going everytime.

I want to see the first poor schmuck that takes the route the suggestion says to take to avoid the WV Turnpike. Most of that route is difficicult enough in a car, much less one of these trucks.

I did follow the suggested route from Wisconsin to Lewis Center, OH once. ONCE. Because looking at the map it made sense. However the map doesn't tell you about the 37485 stop lights you encounter on 30 through Indiana. So screw that I take 70 across.

I'll tell ya why: Because if you run 35 south all the way from Minnesota to Texas, you'll be on the Kansas Turnpike part of the trip, and the route solution will always route you around toll roads unless there's absolutely no way to avoid them. Plus I am pretty sure talking 69 down through Oklahoma and Texas is actually shorter. 69 sucks, though.
