So you're telling me the official stance of Greyhound is "exercise while driving to stay alert". I would think they'd be more inclined to say if you are too tired to drive you should stop, and then exercise , or more likely rest until you are safe to continue.
MILLIS Transfer no longer what it once was

Don't imagine it, actually try it. When you're drowsy from boredom, try a few exercises. It works wonders and makes you more alert and you feel energized. It works better than coffee or a can of coke.
You don't need to take your eyes off the road. It's better than taking one hand off the wheel to talk on your radio.
If you don't want to use a dumb bell, use a hand gripper. The gripper is good but not nearly as good as a 10 pound one piece dumb bell you get at WalMart. -
Why would you suggest that I was fired or still work there or am on bad terms w/Millis. Isn't that immature for you to suggest things like that w/o any knowledge at all. By making things up, aren't you being hypocrtical ??
You wanna know what they said to me last week when I quit?
Why are you quitting? What can we do to make you stay? No, We aren't getting rid of the cameras, Well we're sorry to see you leave. You're always welcome back.

You also have to realize that driving a DOG is different than driving a truck.
You can't just stop anywhere. You have dozens of passengers who will be out in the truck stop or rest area wandering in front of trucks and using drugs. Rounding them up can take quite awhile especially those senile people.
When you delay the bus, it's not just your passengers who arrive late. There are connections where passengers are transfering from bus to bus to take different routes. If a bus arrives 15 minutes late, that can have an effect on several other routes and people will get stuck in little towns with no way to get anywhere.
Why pull your bus over to exercise when you can more efficiently do it while driving?
Just try it !!!! When you are drowsy due to boredom, start lifting a dumb bell or a brief case, or anything heavy. You'll see what it does to increase your alertness. -
Also, come on, guys. The camera thing? That is your biggest concern these days? I see tons of other posts in this very section about companies who force leases on their drivers, don't pay them, make them pay for their own fuel with "promises" of reimbursement, leave people stranded for days, etc.... the one single solitary thread about Millis in the Bad Company section is whining about their cameras, ad hominem attacks against people that aren't the actual company, and tales of what it "used" to be way back in the day and that's all you got? Oh no! How terrible!
I used to dispatch ambulances with the exact same camera system in them. They were effective tools for determining whether the drivers were at fault for accidents or incidents. Most of the drivers it exonerated, and a couple it got terminated. You know what it didn't do? Go off when they weren't doing something that SET it off. Going over a bump could do it sometimes. Swerving to avoid oncoming cars, too. Minding their own business? Not so much. We didn't have access to live feeds, because the systems weren't made for that. Could things be different for the trucks? Sure, but it's unlikely.Lonesome, KiLLaZiLLa93 and Guitar Man Thank this. -
Second, I do not and still do not believe you have the experience you say you do. Millis is a starter company. That's a fact. Most with years of wheel time don't go to Millis Transfer. They are not a bad company, I worked there back in 2001-2002, and was and am still grateful for the opportunity they gave me, and working with me in Trenton to make sure I succeeded. Mike Millis especially. Whatever he had done outside of Millis is none of my concern. I owe my career to Mike Millis.
I do believe you were either fired or left on bad terms because of the vitriol of your posts. I get it. The cameras suck. I've never had one, hope I don't have one, and that's that. That was their decision to put cameras in the trucks. They want to lower their insurance, nip the bad behavior and unsafe driving in the butt, and that's their right. It's their $200,000 investment plus the cost of the freight in that truck. You could have either lived with the camera or simply found another job. You instead went on a mission to degrade not only the company, which, that would have been just fine. But you also did the same to people who happen to be related to them, or just simply have the last name. I don't know, I don't want to know, because it's NONE OF MY BUSINESS. That brought the credibility you head way down, in my view anyway. Once again, my two cents, take it or leave it. Be safe.potter3438, Lonesome, Hitman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Personally, I'd like to know if the owner of the company I drive for has a gambling problem.
