I see it as an invasion of privacy. However, if a car in front of me pulled a stunt and caused a wreck it would prove who is at fault. But the "facing the driver" shouldn't come on unless the truck was involved in a accident. from what I heard, it is always on even when parked. But it drops anything older than "5 min" prior to an event. With all the million dollar lawsuits against trucking companies claiming it was the drivers fault, a camera could be a lifesaver....unless the driver was actually at fault. Orson Wells, 1984, big brother is watching you....

Millis does. 2, 1 facing forward, the other on the windshield staring at the driver. It works in several ways.
In a critical event it sends in 30 seconds of video.
It also works like facetime on your iphone. They watch and hear you live, for as long as they want. Sometimes hours at a time.DustyRoad Thanks this. -
I hope your drivers take a hike when you do install them.WisconsinF150 Thanks this. -
Notice how the states came to that conclusion with seatbelts? Insurance companies know how to get their way. They pad pockets, and BS the public to do it.WisconsinF150 and DustyRoad Thank this. -
For the life of me I can't understand why Co's would put a camera facing a driver....just think about it...if truck is involved in an accident, you have camera facing driver as well as outside , do you really think an atty is going to give a crap about outside, heck no, just what driver was doing so he can sue the co....if would be more beneficial to have cameras outside recording around the truck to protect from an accident .....some people just don't get it...pointing the cams at driver is just inviting an ambulance chasing atty to come after you instead of the moron who caused the wreck by slamming on the brakes in front deliberately...

What other reason would be to put a camera in the truck unless to see if it can force drivers to comply to a certain behaviours. It takes the trust out of having to trust the driver.
It is like e-logs...the OBER is used to enforce compliance, it overrides the trust between a free thinking driver and the company/ federal motor carrier safety administration rules and regulations concerning the Hours of Service.WisconsinF150 Thanks this. -
The insurance industry has a lot to do with this sort of thing as well. After all, money talks.

No wonder you made the above reference about "useless tube." You had to strengthen your own stance, since you might be babysitting your widdle drivers to save a few bucks at Geico.
I hope your drivers take a hike when you do install them. ( sorry not all act the DONKEY like you )
So far the response is POSITIVE as they know FEW BUCKS I SAVE FROM GEICO will inturn given back as increase in pay and I do not need to strengthen my stance in regards on how I run my operation and put FORWARD facing cameras in the trucks
