I go home every other weekend and I am averaging around 2500 a week. Had one week below 2000 when I had to get truck serviced. But also had one week with 3500 miles

While thats not bad I feel with the right dispatcher ur leaving miles on the table. There is about 5 of us that came out of cartersville school together all on the same dispatchers board. 2 of us stay out 3-4 weeks at a time and average 3200+ the other 3 guys go home every other week and are averaging bout 2500 range. If u want to average 3000 plus you gotta stay out 3-4 weeks in my opinion. Last month I was out I hit 3800, 3300, 3600, 3500. I probably have only had 2-3 weeks under 3k since spring. Personally I like to keeo the big checks coming in then just take a week off. Thats just me.

Yea I thought about staying out longer but I would rather have the time at home. Got a wife and 5 girls that would not be happy if I was gone much longer than I am. Lol

Hey Rock-N-Roll_Trucker I go to same class, I cant wait, it'll be fun to have something challenging to do. I'm planning on leaving here 9 AM on Sunday to get there by 5 PM, that way I can familiar myself with the area.

I am about 5 miles on RT61 off of RT. 78 in PA. Right where Cabela's is. I have seen a few trucks rolling this way, so I don't know if this is a good freight lane for you guys or not. I have 2 little girls, so I would rather come home every other week for 2 days or so. I faxed my permit and physical to Ellan today, so I am good to go. Now I just need to scrape enough money together to hold me over for the first few weeks.

Hey Blinkd, map says I am about 8 hours away, so I am planning on leaving around 10am or so. If you were closer to me I would say we could carpool, but you seem a little north west of me.

Well our first few days at MTI is done. You guys weren't kidding, Bill is a great instructor with a great personality and he keeps it interesting. We have the day off today because Bill has to go renew his teaching certificate and Woody broke his hip. I ended up getting roomed with Blinkd, and we are getting along well, so that is a load off my mind. It would make things tougher being roomed for 3 weeks with someone who is difficult to live with. We did the Millis 500 yesterday and all 6 in our class did really well with shifting. Bill seemed pleased and said we are going to have fun with the trailers tomorrow. Yesterday was also "Chicken Day", and I am a believer. We actually ran into one of Bill's old students at Lee's, so I guess Wed. Chicken Day stuck.

After being here almost a week and getting to talk to a lot of drivers at the Millis terminal, I still feel I have made the right decision in choosing Millis as the starting point for my 18 Wheeler Career. Many of the drivers have been here quite a few years, and they all seem content. The trucks are very nice (the T680's are my favorite), but a T700 is still awesome as well. My roommate had his trainer call him yesterday already, so I am patiently waiting to hear from mine.
