No .... idle policy goals and bunk heaters. Inverters allowed, however they must install and I am hearing the shops are having a hard time to getting around to having enough time to install them right now.
-
I've heard the idle policy is 40% what's the truth to this? And what's the easiest way to make sure you don't go over?
-
I believe it's to be under 50%. Best way to hit this is shut down anytime you can. Your idle time get's killed if you run the truck every single night while you sleep. So if you get in the northern states it helps meet the goal if you shut down on cooler nights. Once the weather cools down here meeting that is not even a problem, the bunk heaters in there will broast you right up.

There are a few trucks running around with apus. I think they were testing them. Have not seen any on the newer trucks.
Btw in the southeast regional, idle time is 50% in the summer, 40% the rest of the year. There is an idle bonus if you are under 20 or 10. Can't remember which. I've only ever got it twice in the last year. -
I am not sure what the percentage is on idle time but I stay comfortable and see the idle bonus on my check every month : )

50% in July,Aug,Dec,Jan.
Winter time the bunk heaters do a great job of keeping you warm, if its below 20 you need to idle the truck anyways to keep beer from freezing. Maybe be lower than that on temp its in the handbook.
In summer I bought a 12v fan and it helps, just close your curtains while driving and blast you bunk air, will have it nice and chilly most of the night. -
You have to run a certain amount of miles in addition to the percent to qualify for the idle bonus. Can't remember the miles it's in the book.

I run the sleeper air for about two hours before i park and sleep all night without running the truck. But if its 100 degrees outside the truck is idling. A good rule of thumb is cut it off every time your foot hits the step even just sliding tandems. It helps save idle time for those times when you do have to idle
-
I have to admit - I Idle when I need to. I cant sleep when I am hot or if it's humid outside. My idle time can run up sometimes esp when I am in the deep south or in TX as I was last week. It's still very very hot there. Normally my idle runs below 45% in the summer. Big key is turning the truck off when you leave it - no what the reason. Turn if off if not sitting it in.
Idle bonus means less to me than being comfortable. (just saying)
