I just bought a haier 1.7 cu ft mini fridge for the truck. It isn't a cooler. It's an actual fridge with compressor. I have a 1500 watt inverter to power it. Have a coutouple questions: 1) where should i put it? I'm thinking passenger seat or on the top bunk. It is too wide to fit in the sleeper cabinet. Which place would be better? Should i secure it with bungee cords or straps or something? 2) will i be able to let it run overnight with the truck off on my 10 hour break? Since it shuts on and off I'm thinking it should use less power than an iceless cooler.
Any comments or feedback will be greatly appreciated!

1) Where ever it is out of your way, personally I think on the passenger seat obstructs too much of my view out the window so I would go for the bunk.
2) Yes, most definitely secure it, last thing you want is a fridge, or anything else, coming at you in the event of a crash, or even just a hard brake event could slide it off the bunk and damage it.
3) Depends, if your inverter is high efficiency it may power it, also depends on how cold you keep the fridge, how full (a full fridge cycles on/off less often), the condition of your truck batteries, any other electrical load you pull while parked, many factors. You also may find a 1500 watt inverter is a little light when the fridge first starts the compressor, they surge and draw a lot of power. This can lead to early failure of your compressor or inverter if they are not rated properly. -
Some companies will take out Passenger Seat for you.

I drive a ProStar , I have mine ratchet strapped to the top of the cabinet behind the passenger seat

I ratchet strapped one to the floor after I removed a cabinet...
but I owned the truck so it was an owner approved mod -
Should this question have been asked before you bought it.:smt075 Yes, I am the one that had to bring it up.
I removed a base unit so my fridge would sit on the floor out of the way. You have to secure it well, use a strap and not a bungee If you have to put it up on the bunk then put it behind a cabinet so it won't fall off in an emergency stop. -
Harbor freight has cheap straps. Good for a fridge.

I think I'd recommend it be placed out of the sun. Don't want it working any harder than needed.
