Are you by chance driving a Freightliner? I drove one a few years ago when I was on the Variant side of U.S. Xpress and it would do domething similar. The "APU" didn't create its own power, it just stored it in an extra set of batteries while the truck was running. I had to use it in conjunction with the Opti-Idle so the truck would start itself and recharge those batteries before they went dead.

The problem was that as the batteries got older, they would go dead before the Opti-Idle kicked on and recharged them. Right before the batteries would die, I would hear that beeping noise you mentioned. After they died, a lot of my electrical components would still run off the truck's battery, but nothing heavy. I had the shop change the computer settings so that the Opti-Idle would start while the truck was at a higher voltage and that fixed the issue.

No, the fridge compressor is most likely fried, some inverters are so dirty that the device will just burn up.

You turn on the truck does the fridge run? I would check if the fridge is ok and plug it into a regular 120v land line. Fridges require a sharp snap of power to start the compressor. You might need a capacitor to store extra power for start up.

You need to know if your inverter is pure sine wave or not PSW. If your inverter is modified sine wave it will fry your next fridge. Try plugging your fridge into an electrical outlet outside of the truck you know is working correctly. From what you have typed I don't know if the issue is with your fridge or the inverter. Your messages leave out lots of usable info & leaves me to guess what you might mean, what you have & have not done.
