Definitely filing it in my bookmarks tab - Appreciate the lead!

And I'm used to swimming in the garbage. First job I had out of trucking school was a reefer joint - no surprises there - it was a decent enough company and they treated you well...pay was truly terrible though, even compared to mega carriers to be completely honest. Even posting how much CPM I made a mile even for a NC-CA-NC run feels embarrassing...literally anything else is probably a step up, pay wise at least. Their equipment was really nice though.

QC has a terminal pretty close to me actually, so that works in my favor - I actually got an email today from another fuel hauler company that does Speedway/7-Eleven that basically said they'd be willing to put me on a waiting list once I get my 2 years in, one I've had on my radar for a while, so if nothing else a year or two from now I'll be with them.

Thank you a lot for that!

    CAXPT Thanks this.

    Dry bulk is an option.
You need tanker endorsement, and it gets you necessary experience with the odd center of gravity most tankers have.
They don’t slosh, but they pull similar to a gas load. Gas trailers are baffled, which minimizes slosh. Smooth bore are the ones that’ll knock your fillings loose if you brake hard…
Some dry bulk carriers will pick you up now, but talk with drivers that work there.
I know we have one carrier in Chattanooga that can’t keep drivers because their hos demands are outrageous.
They run you a full 14 every shift, and 16 one day a week. You’ll run out your 70 in 5 days. They don’t pay well either…drivers say they’re only making and 1500 to 1600 a week. That’s where I start on gas. Most weeks I’m closer to 1800 to 1900, occasionally over 2 for the week.
    You too can do this.
Start looking around, see what’s in your area, and begin your planning process.
