Okay here's what I don't get..... Why would a so called businessman start a low margin trucking business when he is just as qualified to start a doctor's office or pot grow op........?

OP from reading the first few pages you are way ahead of most people who start any business. You already know the industry and have a few options for funds. I think you will do great but best of luck to you!

Don't fear competition, that's your opinion, and we respect that, but everyone has their own plan, some people pay cash for everything, some people use other people's money, to make money, and as far as working cheap, that's totally and individual choice, which is why the industry is the way it is, .

Congrats and hats off to you, for taking the risk, but having a backup, I wish homes were that cheap in So Cal, but 85k, you cant buy a garage, lol, jk, .But you got a true point, the rates can be cheaper, than some lenders on trucks, .
I think the concept of using your line of credit as an emergency fund, while you build your business credit, and establish relationship's with vendors, there's nothing wrong with using business credit, to operate, if it's done right the cash will flow from your business, which will eventually pay for itself aND make extra revenue.

I'm not afraid of you I'm cautioning you. You'll be shocked when you get out here and see what it's all about. We'll remember these comments if you come back months later whning about rates. The revolving door of weak underfunded carriers entering the business and then going out of business never ends and as they come and go I'll still be here.

Underfunded = borrowed to the hilt and no cash reserves to bail yourself out of the inevitable.
