I wonder how you would handle a possible $25,000 repair bill if your truck needed an inframe 6 months from now? I was down for a couple of weeks grilling steaks and drinking beers then wrote a check for mine several years ago.

I have cash and I do have reserves but I'm just trying a different Robert Kiyosaki says use Bank funds to leverage your business . (Other People's Money)
(Business Credit). Don't fear competition, it's OK it's enough room in here for everyone to profit.

Really its hard to say what is right amount, probably to be capable of handle any major repair any time is enough, but again I saw a lot of ppl to start as o/o giving last $ for their truck (get newer equipment and pray God that it will be ok for couple months so they can earn some money) , and there is a lot of companies that will step up and pay for any repair bill to o/o and deduct from check in payments

    Midnightrider909 Thanks this.

Yeah, I say at least have at minimum enough in an acount, maintenance fund or credit line that can cover the cost of an overhaul of your trucks engine, also a good warranty, that covers things like (Def, Turbos, and other detail items, besides the major enine and trans, would be nice, there's a couple good companies that I know of. They may cost a bit ,but it's better to be safe than sorry, because in this business time =$$$$. That's just my take on it. I'm starting off with just 1 truck, putting it on with either Interstate or Landstar, .

As far as I know Landstar wants a year of experience which you do not have. I read somewhere else that heartless express just bought out interstate so I doubt that's going to be very profitable way to be an owner operator.

No Correction: Your driver must have a year of experience, not the fleet owner. Just spoke with them last week.

If you pay on a percentage and suck at picking freight you wont have that driver for long.
