I
This is a whole different world compared to a Fiat. I run my own numbers and do 100% of my own mechanic work. I would hate to think what the bill would be for a rental truck AND a repair bill having a engine built. I've been down close to 2 weeks building this engine, few days of waiting in parts, and a couple calling around for a good used engine, then decided to just build mine. Told my wife I'm considering a "spare" truck in the event of a major problem in the future. Having a truck under warranty would be a plus.... just hard for me to trust anyone with a wrench other than myself. My engine is cheap to build compared to some, still with lost revenue and $$ spent on the build, I'm out about $15,000 or more in about 2 weeks. Just trying to share some numbers to give you food for thought. Do a lot of research before you buy a used truck. Wishing you the best.

@Ezrider_48501 that handles anything like us well services pinnacles it would make an old ratted out fld 120 seem like an improvement. The Schlumberger 367 petes i drive are still speced to get #### done. Not sure what the rears are but at 65 its at 1900 rpms with regular 22.5 rubber. Full of fuel w/wet kit and 40ft Heil aluminum can tips the scales at 36k -
funny thing is if i was going to buy a different used truck id lean towards a 379 pete but if i was going to buy a bran new custom ordered truck i would lean towards a ch. but really i plan on running my cx for quite a while yet.

Now if mack offered that as a glider with a full mechanical e7 or e9 wed be talking. I found that '93 ch on the very last page of the truck paper. Paid more than most would of but ch's are getting rare, well the good ones anyway. Dude wanted 25 my dad wrote a check for 22. He has about 35k in it now Just re painted the same scheme. Did it himself for 2500. Gonna inframe it this winter and throw out the 9 for a 18

@Ezrider_48501 what year is yours? My dads last one was 03 pre egr. Up until 05 i think when Volvo made changes to the frame to fix over heating issues from the new aset problems, the vision and ch were the same frame and everything.

@OLDSKOOLERnWV most drivers today couldn't tell you what engine that is cus it isnt red. What cpl? My dad had a 315 bc4 in a 87 or 89 intl. Regret's selling it. 7mpg all day screaming at 1800
.OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this. -
Pump built to a CPL 625 +10%, CPL 586 Pistons, and CPL 310 Injectors. Dual fuel line setup, N14 turbo with N14 air to air. Should be putting a load on its back Today or Tomorrow. And to save everyone the hassle of figuring it out.... here's the CPL's so you can see first hand. And no it doesn't blow a bunch of black smoke like has already been mentioned lol.

My dads started out as a 838. The guy that owned it before my dad had it running like a raped ape. I know its not just turning a screw with that pt system. Gaskets and whatnot. One of his friends didn't believe him until he showed him the tag on the engine. Still didn't believe him cuz it would smoke his 444.
I wasn't gon ask if it rolls coal. My dad said they were clean burning motors set up right. Cummins still love their rpms. Isx 12 i drive is happy at 1900@ 65 and will average 5.5 running steep oh-vw back roads with a ton of idle time running the compressorOLDSKOOLERnWV and rank Thank this. -
The op can use his 401k as collateral and secure a low interest loan that way.
My dad has bought cars that way.Midnightrider909 Thanks this.
