    Hello Everyone,

Well it has been 2 months since starting here. So far all is great. They have lived up to everything that was said. The DM's r great to work with, and easy to get along with. Right now I am sitting for a 34 hour restart. They knew that the hous where getting close, so they planned a load that would allow me to do this. Still they are averaging about 3200 miles per week.

Now the positives and negatives. They have 2 divisions here, general freight and deck division. Myself, I am on the general freight. Did not go Deck because I am not comfortable driving those ATV's off the upper deck, especially in the winter. Negative with the general freight, lots of SE, NE and East. Also all broker freight. WHen you burn out, they will look for SW and MW freight.

Getting used to the pay system took some getting used to. They are still looking at scanning because many drivers are still complaining, especially when payroll cut off is Monday, and you deliver a 1500 mile ld that morning. Come Wednesday, the fuel purchased for that load will come out on Wednesday, even if you only have 2000 miles turned in on Friday. Now if that load delivered close to the yard, then no problem. They are working on this.

Still, all in all, no real complaints. They are still paper logs for O/O and for now staying that way. Company drivers, another story. QC, O/O, your choice. If you go QC, then you will go Electronic.

    Stay safe everyone.

MinStar Transport, MoneyCat and Baack Thank this.

Sounds like Minstar does alot of Polaris loads too. My FIL is leased to Overbye and runs alot of atv's and bike out east to Jersey. He said he dont mind the deck loads most place load and unload for you. But there are some dealers that you make pick-ups at that don't. He likes it for the extra pay.

I am a lease driver. So far everything that they told me has been true. Again, they are also very easy people to work with. My only problem is the pay system right now. They are working on making it better.

The last that I heard is that about 60% of their freight is Ploaris. The majority of their drops are driver unloads. Can not see doing that come winter in the Mid-west.

Ok cool thanks for the info. I have talked to a few drivers in the past and they all said good things. Do you have to haul Ploaris or is that a option?

it is an option. it is your choice if you want to be deck certified or not. they will train you, then you make the choice.

Do you still get good miles just being otr or is the deck thing where the money is at?

Decking imho is where there is more money. You get stop pay, decking pay and load/unload pay it does add up.

Cool thank you for the info. If I would opt. to go otr in your opinion do you think that I would still be able to make money. I am just trying to find all the info out that I can. I want to own my own truck and still be able to bring my wife along with me and just trying to do all the homework that I can before getting into something and just not being able to make it in the end
