I was wondering if anyone know if i should tell my friend to apply or not for a trucking job? He has a misdemeanor for drug possession, carrying medical weed outside of California (arrested in another state) and (possible petty theft charge pending court appearance.)

Anyway to see what is on his background that a company can see?

    Thanks for any advice.

He's hirable. Does he have a CDL? If no CDL he will have to attend a CDL school. Unlikely a trucking company CDL school will hire him, but he can attend a private school. There's lots of cheap ones out there. There's a couple of companies that will hire him at graduation.

There's murderers, rapists and serial killers in these trucks...I don't see that your friend should have too much trouble.

And they're the good ones. I've worked with many of those over the years; they're easy going and laid back. They don't whine about a trainer offending them or a co-worker not being politically correct. They don't park on the fuel islands like the idiots do; that in itself earns more respect than the sissy boys.

I think people would be surprised if they knew all the bad people around them. Some have done time and changed a little and some have changed for the worse.

    Scary world out there !
