I been around a few years, and some things I hear sometimes are just laughable.

Here is one of the latest i have heard.........

"you are driving an 80,000 missile"
Uhhh, NO. Missiles move really FAST and are almost impossible to steer in flight.
You are driving a truck..... it can be slowed or steered with relative ease. Do it right, and keep it under control.

    C'Mon folks.
    It's not rocket science.
Stop making it into something more than it is.

    Now...
Post up some silly ones you keep hearing.

"#### trucks are always in the way!"

"I don't want to see them, and I don't want to hear them!"

"Truck drivers are all a bunch of dirty, smelly, crybabies, and should find a REAL job."

This kind of stupid crap is something that we have all heard. People don't stop to think that they sort of need us to maintain the life style they have become addicted to. It really did get depressing to me before I retired.

"You MUST drive a plastic aero truck to make any money!"

"that load didn't pay very well but it covered fuel so it's ok"

"No you can not re-flash your 475hp truck to 550, the added 75hp will cause the driveline to explode and kill millions"

"you must start in low gear, even empty and going downhill."

    I can keep going......

Nobody else has complained about doing this load, so it must be OK.

"There is absolutely NO reason why you can't get that thing backed in to that dock! OTHER drivers do it all the time!"

When you are pulling a 53' with a road tractor and those "other drivers" are either driving straight trucks, or pulling pups with a day cab. . .

well let's see, you got "guided missiles", you got "heat seeking missiles" don't those "steer" sorta...???

and in the hands of a lunatic (terrorist), or a drugged out or drunkard idiot or a criminal on the run, he ain't gonna use the brakes or steer away from his objective, now is he...??? making him "guided" in his attack..?? how many of those instances have YOU seen..??? i have seen a few...when i was on the road, on the tv news, newspapers even right here on this website.....

and the fuel on board or the contents of the load, especially a tanker, or a van with flammables, those aren't as destructive as a missile..??

and as for speed, whatever the truck can do........

given its over all shape, a big rig is long, narrow and at times every bit as destructive and deadly as nearly any missile can be...

    Wargames and gesterly1 Thank this.

Above is an example of one of the people who spread this BS.

    I have another to add.

"You can't run recaps, they always explode. Heard that on the radio and my brothers uncle's dogs friend told me the same"
