How about doing some research on your own. Maybe like reviewing prior actual dealings with a Carrier, instead of being Lazy and relying on a comment from another Broker. The problem is too much reliance on Technology. I have no problem owning my mistakes. I make them, like everyone. In fact that’s a principle I live by. Others don’t like it too bad. My record speaks for itself. 1988 Loads Successfully delivered in 18 years. Never a single claim. I don’t care for Freightguard. They’re CEO is a Criminal. I can’t avoid all Brokers who use them. I can however pass on a Load, and choose who I decide to work with, when possible. By the same principle, I would never work for a Carrier that uses DAC. Nothing to hide. It’s the Principle of it. Unlike Morals, which can be corrupted and adjusted to meet one’s own beliefs. Principles don’t change.

They aren't threats. Sorry you feel that way but after a couple cycle turns that is just how it is. its just business. how many broker did you give a break to last year? you do any $2/mile loads last year? bet not, and i bet you didn't care how much a broker had in it, or if they lost money. How would this not be actual crap or a shady incident? How does me making a record of what happened make ME hurt their reputation

Having faulty equipment did that. Sorry holding someone accountable for their action sounds like bullying to you. I can't help you there. What I can say is no decent broker wouldn't document this. Because if I have to store and redeliver a load, someone has to pay for it and Its not going to be me. That is the Carrier's responsibility. This IS why there is INSURANCE.

And I just have to take your word for it that you have a flawless track record like you don't have a vested interest in lying if you don't have a good track record? You don't run a credit check on a broker before you use them? GTFOH

I don't know if you do or don't have a clean record and I am just supposed to GAMBLE with my customer's freight? There NEEDS to be 3rd party reports like FG to keep y'all honest. Sorry if it doesn't seem fair. Paying $5/mile for $3/mile service last year didn't seem fair to me.

Too much reliance on Tech? you moving freight with wagons and oxen? Ridiculous.

Perception is reality as they say. I thought the rates were finally what they should always have been myself. Im guessing you had to be competitive and settle for less commission to make any money at all, in other words, actually earning your living. Welcome to an O/O’s world where we actually earn our money. You probably couldn’t hack it. It’s a very hard job. More involved than a keyboard, telephone, and a list of Customers to access. Not to mention the capital invested. I have a lot of skin in the game. On the other hand I could do your Job, very easily. I love booking Loads. It’s fun, actually picking up and delivering a Load in a safe timely manner is real work, involving more than an app. I seriously doubt you’re an Independent Broker. If you were you’d know the value of a single O/O like myself. One call does it all. I’m your eyes and ears in the field. I specialize in diffusing difficult situations. I make it happen. If my Truck breaks down, I’m not waiting on the shoulder for the Repair Ferry to arrive. I’m wrenching on it, and still making the trip. If I oversleep, and am late, I’ll tell you that’s what happened and why. Usually because it took 8 hrs to load your crappy freight, like it always does, you already knew that, but forgot to mention it. Are you? I doubt it, you have to follow policies made by higher ups 1000 miles away. Because without a set of rules, policies to follow, you couldn’t function. That’s the problem with so many Industries these days. The Corporations have everything figured out. All anyone has to do is follow the program. That’s why no one will dare make a decision on they’re own. They can’t, they have to follow policy. Yes, too much reliance on Technology. It’s breeding a whole industry of Lazy Workers. Whether it’s a Brokers Agent too Lazy to check references, instead relying on an app. like Carrier 411. Then they wonder why their freights not taken care of. I used the app. I’m covered, can’t blame Me!!! It’s a joke. You’re a joke. In the big scheme of things, no where near as important as you seem to believe. There’s literally thousands of Brokers. A negative Freightguard report on average can have an effect of approximately 20% loss in Business for a Single O/O like myself. I’ll gladly take that voluntarily. Please don’t refer to me as Y’all, Dude, or Bro either. Be a Professional at whatever you do, or end up doing later in life, once Brokers Agents become obsolete.

Rates, how much brokers keep, how much drivers overcharge in a good market, all that is irrelevant in this thread.
While I think its ok to have OP drop the load to a warehouse and not pay him anything, is totally not ok to Freightguard him, it's plain abuse.

Anyway, you proved my point by saying it's just a business. You could careless about someone else.

Plz be honest, what's the size of your brokerage and how long have you been in business?

To see a broker jump on here and immediately assume the OP has ####ty and poorly maintained equipment which resulted in the breakdown and quote that 99.9% of new equipment doesn’t breakdown is absurd.
Seriously this is what is wrong with the industry, brokers look at truckers as lying, cheating scum who are just a number on a computer screen.
