Bolted crossmembers instead of huck’s if you plan on mounting anything to the frame.

I’m not sure. My new truck is only 250” so I didn’t worry about getting bolts since I’d be punching holes in the frame to mount stuff anyway.

Oxbow, REO6205 and Pamela1990 Thank this.

The only thing I personally would change is the tire size..I’d go with a 24.5.

    Pamela1990 Thanks this.

Went with the 22.5’s for weight savings, plus with where we run and our range for cruise speed. Don’t run much past 70.

    Oxbow and Pamela1990 Thank this.

Spec the Davco, and make it the heated version. It's worth it for the water separation, and in this age of cold fuel returned to the tank, the heater element reduces the need to treat fuel until its really cold. Order the insulated fuel lines, too.

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to say anything, because I have no idea what is the standard size for his region, and type of work.

All I know is really my area, and everything is pretty much 24.5 here, trucks and trailers.
Same with the gearing, but again my experience isn't applicable to his world.
I went with 4.10 gears, because I don't cruise high speed highways.
But if was pulling lighter loads, not in the mountains, and not offroad or on low speed highways, those gears would probably make sense.
