The local TV never mentioned the tornado on I-44 again... so I don't know what happened or if it happened at all. Lots of "spooked" folks around here right now. The current round of storms have passed. I'm off to listen to the CB until bedtime. Night folks...

they just issued tornado warning for northern jasper co.

News conference was held at 5:00 CDT today. 125 confirmed deaths. No new survivors found. People unaccounted for has dropped to 750... well down from 1500 yesterday. 900 reported injuries.
St. John's Medical Center will rebuild... but in another area of town.
Joplin School District had four schools destroyed. They're insured for $100 Million. They assure everyone they will be "ready to go" in 82 days when school starts in August. Hard to believe, but we can hope.
Enterprise is bringing in 8,000 rental cars tomorrow for the tornado victims.
My workplace is coming around. We knocked down lots of loose bricks around the roof edges today. Still no power there and probably won't have anytime soon.
The National Guard has cleared and opened most of the major roads through the destruction. I drove through the south side about an hour ago. Horrible sight. I travel that area daily and it was like going through there for the first time.
Had some rain and small storms earlier this afternoon. Nothing major. Looks like tonight should be OK. We'll see...
Will update tomorrow... -

Don't have much new to report. Been "on the go" since 7am this morning. I heard the count remains at 125 confirmed dead. Unaccounted has been reduced to 232 from 750.
I drove down S. Main in Joplin a few times today making deliveries. Total destruction as far as the eye can see from 22nd to 28th streets. Watching the events on CNN and FOX News doesn't do this justice. It's BAD.
We conducted business at work all day. Power was restored last night. Building and lot are shaping up nicely.
I can't believe how "orderly" this disaster is being handled. Visited a few relief sites today around town. They have huge tents set up that look like Walmart with everything imaginable one might need. You take what you need and go... no money needed. EVERYONE wants to help. It almost brought me to tears a few times... and I'm not the type to cry over anything.
My friend who lost two homes... and is trying to live in the "rubble" of one of them... is eating three large meals a day and has a fully stocked kitchen. Volunteers constantly drive by his home offering all the necessities.
The Joplin Police reported there have been 7 arrests for thefts in the disaster zones since the tornado... a remarkable low number.
That's all tonight... more tomorrow. -
Sorry for the late report. Been out of town for a day and just got back to Joplin.
As of 6pm CDT... 142 confirmed dead and 100 unaccounted for.
There were 11 people on the unaccounted list that lived in a nursing home. Facility administrators called yesterday to confirm they were dead.
A 4 year old boy was "sucked" out of his home near the high school and found one mile away in a tree alive. Parents are confirmed dead. He explained the experience as "flying with angels".
Most of the major roads in Joplin are open and traffic is getting somewhat back to normal.
That's about all I have tonight. Will report tomorrow.Bumpy, GuysLady and NDBADLANDS Thank this.
