I was at a pilot today getting a hopper washed out when I heard a crunch. Looked over and saw that a CR Rngland driver had hit another parked CR England truck. The funny part was that the parked truck was backed into a space and the guy who hit him was pulling in forward. Caught the front bumper with his tandems. When he backed out he took the bumper with him.

Ask them if they do that when they load or unload, back in or head into the dock.. That will give you about 1/2 hour of silence as they think about it. You have a greater chance of hitting somebody or something when you head in and back out. Never get hit by CREngland..from experience they are self ensured and a good chance you will have to go to court to get your money.. Unless you want a used red freight shaker .

Take it you know from experience :biggrin_255: torturing those poor greenhorns.

My school actually took the time to risk 3 of their assets by teaching me on an off day to back between trucks as if I were at a stop. Was something I think should be in the basic training. I actually found it easier than doing the ally dock exercise in preparation for the Michigan DOT exam. Think it was something to do with seeing the trailers...and not having to look for a cone on the ground.

Others got to experience backing into a building with a 14' door. That was enlightening too.

It is much easier with trucks around for me as well. Most guys say the same thing. To this day I can't hit a space well with both sides empty but I can place it into a tight spot with something on either side no problem. It helps a lot when you have something that gives you a real reference to your position.

Hey I like your thinking *sarcasm*
That was well over 10 years ago when I got my first driving gig, taking every load offered, running way beyond HOS just so I could call dispatch and tell them I made it in a day and yes, not bothering to stop for 5 minutes to piss but thank you for your concern

Not just noobs do this. I've seen plenty of old timers doing it too. People are just lazy.

What I find funny is when they don't use the foresight to see once the place fills, they have no chance of backing out without moving trucks or waiting...
