Think about it. If you had a PHD , a masters or a bachelor degree , would you be a truck driver? Or have an 40 hour a week job, be at home every night, and make more than 1000 a week. And not be regulated to death.. Ignorant remark? Smell the flowers .. Even a smart person would be working in the trades.. But it looks like the newbie driver, only has the ability to try to belittle, and did a poor job at that. Must work for Swift, or England.

I had a Freightliner park next to me one time in Minooka, IL that had modified the exhaust pipe through the side skirt behind the fuel tank. I woke up the next morning with my cab filled with exhaust. It took most of the morning for the smell to go away. It was winter and had the windows and vents closed.

You don't know what you're talking about fella. I've met many guys out here that are highly educated. Lots of people fresh out of the corporate world that wanted a career change. I don't have a BS, but I do have a college degree, 14 years of law enforcement, and I left to drive truck. College degrees and high paying corporate jobs are great, but also very stressful and many times the pay isn't worth it. It wasn't for me. I'm much happier driving down the road making much, much less than I was as a deputy sheriff.

and have you ever figured the money per hour your making? And don't forget after 40 hours a week is time and a half. It's about 12 bucks an hour for the average driver. And I have known PHDs driving because they got tired of working for no named companies making a couple hundred a year. But they are long gone. Now according to your information you have less than two years. So you have only experienced some of trucking. And most of those that are from the corporate world were laid off and trucking was the only job that was hiring.. 14 years of law enforcement? Why didn't you retire after 20? Heck the sheriffs office in San Francisco is paying about 80,000or better for 40 a week. Plus benefits.. Trucking used to be fun, truckers all worked together, and had an understanding with the police. But not any more. We have all of these regulations to try to control and wash out bad drivers. Most old drivers got into this trade because they wanted to.. Now it's because they have to. And it shows. More and more of us old guys are getting out, and it's not to retire.. It's that they are tired of the way that others treat them.. With you just starting, you will get in the middle of it. You think law enforcement was bad with law suits? And BS claims that the scum gave you? Welcome to today's drivers and every attorney that sees that big pile of money as insurance. You could get hired in any trade available.. Be a carpenter, iron worker, pipe fitter, electrician and make more money per year than any truck driver does. And is home every night. Has dinner thatis better than the crap that truck stops feed you. We didn't have to worry about getting the Crome sucked off our front bumper that some do when they cut in front of you. We didn't need to worry about getting our hood ripped off by some idiot in the truck stop, we didnt have to listen about just how great that driver thinks he is and will tell you all about it, even if you aren't interested. We didnt used to have to talk another driver off a mountain out west, we used to stop and help a driver that was broke down.. Now it's lets see just how close we can get to that truck on the shoulder. We have drivers to day that cut holes in the floor so they don't need to find a toilet, or pee in bottles and toss them along the side of the road , where the grass mower guy gets his back soaked with others pee, or allof those plastic bags full of poo that's laying all over the parking lot. Ever wonder why most of WalMart doesn't let trucks park on their lots at night. And one thinks that these drivers are educated? Ever heard of educated idiots.. These are tomarrows drivers . And on the most part.. It doesn't look good at all.. Out of 100 new drivers. We might get 15 new truck drivers and yes I do know what I'm talking about 42 years worth of seeing not all but most.. I haven't been around much.. 48 states 2 provences and 2 territories.. And one other continent. .. There's being uneducated and stupid.. Big difference.. At least the uneducated can be taught.. The stupid are useless... But they know everything they think.
