I went from one career that was given no respect by the public to this one. I was previously a professional land surveyor. I had (still have) a state license that took 12 years to achieve the way I did it as a tradesman back in the 80s-90s. Today it takes a four year degree to get a "surveyor in training" license then four years in responsible charge. I built a reputation to be proud of in my area of the country, by those who know. But the public, and those who know, still went to the lowest bid, no matter what!

Now I am making almost as much, with a four week course and 1.5 years on the road...

If I had my choice, I would have been born to a rich family and just get a huge inheritance.

Dad is a doctor. I have a good IQ. But there are two things I always was interested in. Driving, and being a radio announcer. Did the radio thing for about a dozen years.

Do I still question myself about it? Yup....every time I see pics of my sister's house (her husband is a financial adviser...something I could NEVER do)....see a nice car go by....a hundred other times a day. But in the end, I do what I do because I could never stand to be cooped up in an office, dealing with the ever-increasing load of government BS (not that we don't, but check out other professions!), or dealing directly with the public for hours on end.

I'll stick with what I've got....no matter how much I witch and bine!

For some reason I hate the term "logistics".

    I don't know why...

I was a professional pilot. It took me about $30k and several years to get as far as I did up the professional aviation ladder. It took me 6 weeks and $3500 to get my first driving job and that job paid about $20k/yr more than I had been making as a pilot 6 weeks earlier.
