There are a few documentaries on the subject. The one about J.J. Is one of my favorites. We have family pictures from the 70’s with a lot of the old NASCAR racers. Mom and Dad would pack up the station wagon and we’d spend the weekend at some off in the woods dirt track.

And here I thought it was about cars running on moonshine.

I drank some one time and didn't like it at all. Never drank it again.
The moonshiners and drivers, some of them, would take a gulp of it and chase it with cigar smoke. That's the way my father did it.
He kept it hidden in his shop so my mother wouldn't dump it out. She could be vicious and cruel that way.buddyd157, bzinger, BigBob410 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I didn't like kissing those old women on the cheek, such as my grandmother, because they smelled like snuff.
They'd stuff some in their cheek like men do with tobacco or they'd snort it like cocaine. They'd put a pinch of it on the back of their hand, then snort it off their hand.

I drank some back in the 70s. Guy poured some in a Mason jar lid and told me to kind of sneak up on it and get a drink. And not to let the fumes get into my eyes. Knocked me on my butt. Guy was from Kentucky and told me he never saw colored whisky until he went into the Army.
