Eh, in inflationary and rough times, so long as you can make the payments and not lose ground its not bad, the people truly in trouble are the ones banking on the height of the paycheck to be normal

I wouldn't say that. A smart carrier might not fight for top dollar but build regular customers. Once rates drop, they still have work to do. Usually, the chasers fail. They are the ones chasing a top rate when times are good then cry when things crash.

Yeah speed limiter is on the truck, won't go over 100, rolling down a hill it will try and stay at 100, but will get up up a bit higher.

Honestly I don't mind it, we have monitoring cameras everywhere, so having the speed limited means you can just put it flat to the floor and don't have to worry about getting busted speeding between 2 cameras

    Obviously would prefer no cameras....

We have a national heavy vehicle speed Max of 100, honestly on a few roads this should be increased to 110 as the roads are good between Syd, Bris, Melb. Will never happen though

dwells40, Bumper, bumper Jack and 2 others Thank this.

My son is also graduating HS in about 3 weeks then he is off to college. Thankfully he qualified for several scholarships and our projected additional annual expense is between $12-15,000. Accordingly, I expect that I will continue to work for 4 more years.

Why would I want to work year round on "regular" customers for rates that are lower than spot versus running heavy for top dollar spot market rates part of the year and take the rest off when things cool down? Everyone's different but I'm not into running like a job or employee. Being chained to a regular is too job-like for me.
