I am a foreigner from eastern europe. I have been living and driving here since 2010 with a CDL A and live in the NW suburbs of Chicago. I have seen more snow in EU than here so far and will tell you that drivers from EU will always be better than drivers in US because of the size of the infrastructure here. Roads are a lot bigger here anywhere you go (beside some east coast places), therefore the experience gained from driving in EU is like a marine vs army soldier training.

From personal perspective, i never had an accident and speek english fluently, graduated at UIC with a biology degree and have a business employing 18 people.

I agree some foreigners do not speak english and therefore will have a hard time integrating. However, most europeans that come here are a lot more hard working people than a lot in this forum. Most europeans that come are from the ex soviet republics who are stil poor and we are mostly driven to come here for a better life; meaning that 99% will work 25 out of the 24 hours in a day and will never ever take advantage of uneployment or of making money due to an accident and pretending that they are hurt so bad that they can't work or won't pay rent to a landlord for months in a row knowing that the law is on their side. I know all these from personal and from my friends' experiences. Who do you think are the majority owners of small and mid size businesses in large cities? Hint: foreigners.

Good times make the younger generations weak. As a result, i see most people born in late 80s and onward in US and other prosperous countries, pretty weak, never say hi or goodbye, are less sociable overal and have 100 genders. Try to convince me that it is otherwise.

Last one, myself along with all friends voted Trump!

Now tell me pls, can you guys generalize saying that foreigners are this and that like the posts above?

That is such a click bait article meant to get truck drivers blood boil up.
The work visa increase is for everyone, not just for truck drivers. In fact truck drivers nowadays do not even qualify for H2B visa except some farm jobs.
These 65k extra jobs is also a drop in the ocean compared to almost 12 million people that came in the country during last 5 years

Yesterday a driver at check in window in front of me was incapable of speaking the load pick up numbers to the shipping office lady.
He had to show her his phone and point to the numbers.

That’s a prime example of someone who needs their CDL revoked

You preaching to the choir bro, most folks here don’t care they just need a scapegoat to justify their shortcomings so they can feel better about themselves.policy makers are not foreigners, big shippers are not foreigners, brokers are not foreigners and yet these idiots think the problem is those drivers trying to scrape a living.i’ll say grow a pair and do something about it or just shut the f up.

Because the states are doing it and getting away with it and the feds are looking at the other way… Hopefully that comes to a stop because this is ridiculous…

What is more important? Feeding your kids or learning a language?
