Most make the mistake of assuming that all drivers are just low skill labor . I know plenty that took it up in down turns from construction, electrical , machining , HVAC etc

I was a home builder and contractor for 30 plus years prior to getting into trucking. I was forced to because of the great recession. I've paid my dues and found my place in this industry now as an owner operator. Don't plan to go back to my previous vocation, I'm too old and content running my own little one man dog and pony show now ;-)

That’s the downside to trucking it can be addictive . But at least you can build your own house and not get screwed

Truck driving itself is not addictive to me. I could take it or leave it.

Now the income, independence and not having to deal with a bunch of employees, subs, building officials and picky customers is something I definitely embrace.

Missed out on a hell of a company. I hope they told you the salary program was optional and not mandatory.

My company has guarantee minimum pay $1,000 a week or your milage pay. So if you run the mile you get more money but never less then $1,000.

If you do 34 reset on the road they pay $100 extra the first weekend. Two weekends in a row and you get $200 extra.

We get $20 per hour detention pay after 2 hours even if the customer does not pay the trucking company

Their is no catch other then they will run your 70 hours out as much as they can. So most dada they want us up and rolling atfer 10 hour break. We get safety bonus pay just from watching safety video and running legal. It very easy to get safety bonus pay.

I go to the movies for free, I pay using my safety reward points we get. We can buy movie tickets thru Fandango app. So I see movies for free

No northeast and pulling dry van

Marten just bumped up to $20 after the first hour. They are starting at .53 with bonuses. It's moving.

70 hours a week that’s less than fifteen an hour
