More lies from the Safety Dept. on using your 4 ways.

It's ALMOST like once enough idiots are unnecessarily flashing their lights to the world others have to flash MORE lights to stand out to the world. It started with the idiot daytime running lights. Since the researchers in gloomy Canada noticed that the cars with lights turned on had less accidents than the cars with no lights, we all get to have DRLs on and now they don't add anything. If people really thought 4-ways increased safety why wouldn't they add double or triple 4-ways lights to get even more safety?

I like the 4-way stops on customer's private property and all of the newbies at the 4-way stop not being able to make the turn because none of them can detect which direction any other truck is going. After a few minutes one brave soul kills his 4-ways and turns on his turn signal, like anyone will notice that is a world of flashing lights. At least they all know to pull 6 miles in front of their dock door before they start backing in from the other side of the country. SMDH.

I had a pretty good laugh this morning watching one of our sleeper idiots trying to back in a pup trailer from 5 truck lengths straight in front of the door with nothing else in the immediate vicinity. After the 3rd pullup I just shook my head and kept walking back to my truck.

I actually made a thread about that a couple weeks ago. I gave up after some knot head showed up, and insisted that everyone agreed with him that it was just a billy big rigger attitude to expect people to get out of the Middle Lane. That he (and his imaginary friends) were the only ones expressing that opinion, didn't seem to register.

And I know a lost cause when I see one.

Only 3 pull ups? That’s good in today’s world!

About a year ago I watched a girl trying to back in. She didn’t line up correctly and was way too far out and close to the curb. As she backed and tried to follow the trailer in she kept hitting the curb with the tractor tires. Not just the front right but she would sometimes catch it with the right rears as well. What’s that you say Sometimes? How many times would be the correct question! The answer to that would be I think she was into it for 7 maybe 8 attempts before I started counting! From the time I started counting till I got fed up waiting and offered help she made about 24 more attempts all with the same or similar results.
I walked to the passenger side at what seemed to be a short break to let her air pressure build back up after pumping the crap out of the brakes for yet an other few attempts.

The girl in the passenger seat rolled down her window and I saw a look of confusion and dismay, maybe even a bit of fear in her eyes. I asked loud enough for the driver to hear if she needed or could use any help as I could show her a much better way.
The girl driving responded with a look that says I know everything, don’t bother me and then turned away.
The passenger looked at me and said I’m the trainee, she is the trainer! But if you can help me I would appreciate it. The look in her eyes had my immediate sympathy.
Without the drivers cooperation I was limited to only being able to draw her a diagram showing the movements and placement of everything for her to review and then told her to watch closely as I lined up and backed into a door a few over from them several times.
At this point I would have to guess the trainer had attempted it quite a few more times and still wasn’t in but at least was getting closer to it. Finally there was an opening for me to get past and out of there and I had to leave but can you imagine this person was training someone and couldn’t even get into a relatively easy dock!

My favorite is when a bunch of them are climbing a grade nose to tail and one of them decides he wants out of the pack so he turns on his signal and can't figure out why nobody will "let" him out

Let’s put it this way, if your don’t tailgate the truck in front of you and leave any kind of open space they will cut out!

The big dilemma, “should I offer to help or should I mind my own business?” It was good of you to offer help to what sounds like a Dumb and Dumber program. Everyone needs help at some point.
