You mean there’s actually a term for that?

    What have we sunk to?

Sunk to? That’s actually a feature on high end luxury cars. Maybe not using the fog lights though. My 88 Chrysler New Yorker in high school had corning lights on the fenders in front of the steer tires.

I’ve considered setting up a set of lights on the steps facing forward and out at a 45 for back road turns at night. It would be nice to see the road before I’m aimed that direction.

Since the 60's there's been a term for that, many Caddy's and other luxury cars had cornering lights beginning in the late 60's up through the 80's, Buick had them as early as '64.

For this sort of thing to appear on a truck smells an awful lot like yet another nanny device meant to stupidproof a job that most who do it were at some point proud of.

Yeah, the last decade or so, it's been the fog lights that come on, instead of a dedicated "turning light."

It's annoying when I'm loading my cars at night, the slightest turn of the wheel and they come on, and it's distracting.

All of our logging trucks and water trucks are set up that way. It really makes a difference on those dark switchbacks when there's no other light source. We just got the Tractor Supply black rubber set up. They're plenty bright and you won't have a heart attack if you carve one off on a stump.

Saw one last week. I wonder if Georgia will ticket for not having a blinking light sticker.

I'm sorry, but if my truck drops below 55 and is on its way into the 40's on an interstate, I will put my hazards on. I'm letting people know I am not doing anywhere close to the speed limit. 81 is my favorite road for that. This brand new truck has 8hp and 16ft lbs of torque, but hey, it's got the digital dash.
