More products recalled by U.S. due to lead paint

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a slew of new product recalls on Thursday because the items, like children's jewelry and Halloween pails, contain excessive levels of lead.
The recalls include about 38,000 Go Diego Go Animal Rescue Boats from Mattel Inc's Fisher-Price division. The boats were sold at retail stores nationwide from June through October for about $15, and the surface paint contains excessive levels of lead.
Also being recalled are about 142,000 Halloween pails sold at Family Dollar Stores Inc from August through October for about $1.
The CPSC said the green paint on the pails contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

This is precisely why I am buying clothes for my great nieces birthday. How are we supposed to know whats safe and whats not anymore?

I think it's kind of ironic that everyone is harping on the crap that comes from China but just look at the names of the company's that are making that crap in China........Fisher Price.....Mattel.....

These are/were American company's that sold out to the lowest bidder and it just happens to be China,and our children are suffering for it.

It's obvious to me that these companies need to bring production back to American soil.
