More rules and regs? I think its time for a shut down strike.

I recommended the first week of July all over this forum starting 2 months in advance since it was the first week of the new HOS and was a short week also because of 4th of July Holiday. Seemed appropriate... celebrate Liberty with the family and don't haul anything that week. Well, I took the week off, but no one else seemed to. So I went on "strike" as it were and no one else showed up. So, y'all are on your own.
Maybe because I didn't mention it was a "strike" but a holiday shutdown that threw those with a room temperature IQ off. So many missed a great opportunity to take the holiday off, only lose a few days of income instead of interupting a regular full week of running, and if anyone would have asked, y'all could have just stated you were going home for the holiday to spend time with friends and family. Even government would not have had the basis to say you were going on strike.
Oh well. Opportunity missed. Well, I did my part and I got a lot of things done around the house that had been needing done.baddbudd_2000 Thanks this. -
Thanksgiving could be a date...

Dude , if you're having a problem with your pay because you accepted a job that pays too low YOU are part of the problem. Carriers set low rates because people like you are foolish enough to accept them.
Smart drivers working for decent carriers make a good living despite any regulation changes. Don't expect support from them because you made a bad choice.
In fact , well paid union drivers are the ones that demanded the HOS changes. They sure aren't going to support drivers like you.airforcetoo Thanks this. -
Dude ,please give me an example of good pay..

Dude, where among my posts do I say I'm unhappy with my pay, I like my job and I'm okay with the pay, I don't need the money, I'm doing it for fun, however it occurred to me that there has been no real increase in pay for over twenty years, so it is clear to me you no longer drive or don't give a cxxp about the drivers out there... It used to be where a driver could earn a good living put a roof over his family's head and perhaps send his kids to college, it's oblivious to me your okay with things as they are, in fact I doubt you even drive anymore, with 12,000 posts in five years, you need to drop out of the conversation because you're not contributing.

Dude you have know idea how predatory these companies are in fact they are out and out liars to new recruits, a new guy coming in only gets with a good company by shear luck, like I did, these companies pray on people needing a job, their lack of knowledge and access to it.... It's clear to me from your smug answers that somehow you got yours a you don't care about the new guys coming into the industry, once again it's only by shear luck that anyone gets with a good company right out of the gate...
tell me where there is a clearing house where a guy can go and learn about reputable companies?
You talk a lot but really have very little to offer. -
Seems to me there is plenty of info here about bad companies but wannabes choose to ignore advise and think they are smarter than the thousands before them that were exploited.
Reputable companies have plenty of applicants. They don't need unqualified wannabes to have the resources to send useless applications.
If wannabes choose to accept employment with a bottom feeder company that's their problem. -
You don't know what you're talking about. If you don't drive you have no place making a comment here.

Being thanked just 6 times shows how little members think you are contributing.
Can you post any info on strikes that were beneficial in the last 10 years? If you can't you're just blowing smoke.
