What a mess. Re read all that you signed in the carrier pack before you got the ratecon. Never know what’s in the fine print! You may have signed away your soul to those idiots.

Thank you guys. I would like to put the whole email chain on here for your enjoyment, but I don't want to bore you guys. But here is the last message I sent them:

"I'm dropping the trailer next to some other JB Hunt trailers. Pictures will be attached shortly.

Please be advised. I WILL FILE against you if you reduce my rate. You DO NOT get to dictate to me what rate I charge, nor can you pass your business costs to me. You can either accept or reject the price I set for service, just like any other business.

That's it. No more emails. Pics will be sent shortly." IMG20230713100443.jpg IMG20230713100536.jpg

You know what really gets my goat is that they had at least 20 other trailers here. So my dropping it here is perfectly reasonable. But they just wanted to play hardball. Here was the final message I sent them:

"Trailer is in location S-7. You have other trailers here. So I guess you just didn't feel like dropping it here, huh? You have about 20 other trailers here. You were looking for free labor.

I agree. I basically charged them $2 a mile. My cost per mile is $1. So I'm making a measly $100 to take up over two hours of my day. They want to give $66? I'd be operating at a loss.

They are the absolute scourge of the broker world. They nickel and dime the hell out of you. Did I mention they charge $15 to use THEIR trailers to pull THEIR loads? That wasn't in the ratecon.

    J. B. Hunt is the last broker I look at when life is looking bleak. And the only reason I used them this time is because they gave me $675 to yank this load for them. That's a pretty good rate for 250 miles or so in this market. For them, it is an astronomically high rate!

But I've butted heads with them one other time. They wanted to add a few "details" after I booked a load. So I called them and told them to take me off of it. When the guy asked me the reason, I told him, "Because I ain't putting up with your shenanigans."

Another thing...the Big Shot asked me where it said that this was a preloaded trailer. They tried to claim it was a live load. So I sent him this: Screenshot_2023-07-13-09-03-44-56_62bf205b663c515ae4ab2f82528ac0ad.jpg

Why is this detail important? Well, because I spent 4 1/2 hours at the receiver, I didn't have any time left this morning. I got to New Braunfels at 2am, and couldn't even do a split-sleeper. So I had to get "creative" with the elog. Luckily, the Walmart DC was just on the other side of I-35 from the TA, about a 3-mile loop to the other side.

well, hey, it's not a bad deal......just gotta be careful.
Lots of folks say, "Never again", and that's cool. But a reputable company like JBH, is always a good move.
Yeah, they got a crap load of cheap freight, but every now and then they have a move that works for you. And they pay.

I have not worked with JBHunt since the down turn of the market. They was one of the first to drop rates to nothing and I had a decent working relationship with them. Sad they tried to take advantage of you for stupid reasons. Did they pay you without taking out money? @gekko1323
