More "stupid broker tricks." Current, real-time dispute with J. B. Hunt

Yeah, they paid me the full amount. They deducted a $15 trailer fee so I ended up getting $660. I can live with that. The reason I was in an uproar and decided to post was because they threatened to deduct 30% off the rate if I didn't take the trailer to San Antonio. I wasn't really clear in my posts because my mind was all over the place.

I guess this is a good learning event for those who don't know, or are new. A broker can't compel you to do things after the fact. As one guy here pointed out, J.B. Hunt can ASK you to drop the trailer. But you are NOT an employee, so they cannot order you to. They can ask, and you can either comply or decline. And as an owner/op, YOU can ask for a rate. They can either accept or decline.

 

Well, it's pretty safe to say that they didn't put me on a DNU list. I booked a load with them today that pays $2200 for about 740 miles. It has several drops but they're all close to each other. I guess they knew that I had a legit point in not delivering their trailer for free. I guess they were just feeling out how much they can get away with?
