What does it do to the usage on the air cards?

One hour episode of CSI from www.cbs.com weighs in at around 260-300 megabytes. Watch 3-4 hours a day and you are going to eat up your 5 gigabytes pretty quick.

If you watch a few low res youtube videos you aren't doing much damage. They are low resolution, and tend to be less than ten minutes long. I was logging on to hulu.com every day and watching 3-4 of high res tv a day and got a call from Sprint telling me that if I kept using 30-40 gigs a month they were going to cut my service. That kind of streaming video is real intensive. I played Team fortress 2, an online first person shooter, last night for 4 hours straight and only used up 60 megabytes. That's about the same as a 20 minute flash video.

I have the sound turned off on the computer, so not watching them is no problem.

Interesting to know the true story about it. I imagine using the wifi at a truck stop like flying j on day rate could be limited as well.

Flying J limits you to 300 megabytes for 24 hours if you buy the 24 hour option. If you pay by the month, there's no limit. By the way, stay away from that Pilot wi-fi. I purchased 24 hours of that, thinking I was going to grab a few movies for the $5 daily fee, since they had no limit..yeah right. Also my Sprint card wasn't in a 3g area, and was in the slow mode. They had that router hooked up to a satellite service and it was slower than my Sprint card was in 2g.

I rarely got lucky to spend time in truckstops. It is why I got the air card.

    Current shows I watch online:

    24, House, CSI, Fringe.

Since there's only one episode a week, which comes out the week after it airs, I don't use up too much bandwidth. But if I get laid over somewhere, I start watching other TV shows like Bones, Life, and some of the new stuff like that new Fox show about the guy who can detect lies. Luckily, Millenicom does not have a 5gb cap, though, I understand they discourage excessive use.
